HUBBARD'S AWARD WINNING E-BOOK,
‘BATTLEFIELD EARTH' TO RELEASE IN 10 LANGUAGES

The world-wide science fiction adventure bestseller, Battlefield Earth by L. Ron Hubbard, will be released in 10 different languages in eBook format this year-setting a benchmark pace for fiction in the eBook industry, as was just announced by Galaxy Press.

Underscoring what he called "a continuing, strong commitment to the still-burgeoning eBook marketplace," Galaxy Press President and Publisher John Goodwin said the company will initially release the 430,000 word Battlefield Earth-the biggest single science fiction novel in electronic publishing-in Spanish, German, Swedish, Danish and French. EBook versions in Italian, Dutch, Brazilian, Portuguese and Bulgarian will follow.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary with the release of a new hardcover special edition and as one of the best-selling science fiction novels in history, Battlefield Earth has also been a breakthrough bestseller in the conventional publishing industry with nearly 7 million print copies of the epic future-Earth adventure already sold in 26 languages. The novel has appeared on over 500 bestseller lists around the world.

The English eBook edition of Battlefield Earth recently won the CyberRead Award for the best-selling science fiction eBook of 2002 and is Fictionwise.com's highest rated science fiction eBook. The novel of an Earth under the yoke of an alien power where "man is an endangered species" will be available in multi-language formats on a number of major eBook sites, including www.cyberread.com, www.fictionwise.com, www.mobipocket.com, www.bn.com, www.palmdigitalmedia.com, and www.overdrive.com among others.

Goodwin said that other L. Ron Hubbard titles in genres ranging from science fiction and fantasy to mystery and suspense are also slated for release as eBooks this year. These include the suspense thriller, Fear; the classic military survivalist novel, Final Blackout; the parallel worlds fantasy-adventures, Slaves and Masters of Sleep; Hubbard's cosmos-voyaging Ole Doc Methuselah and the virtual reality swashbuckler, Typewriter in the Sky.
