Hubbard's back

Battlefield Earth is a rip-roaring space adventure with more action than Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica put together. It contains all the important elements – intrigue, space travel, galactic oppression, spying, and that anathema to schoolboys and science fiction writers alike – love.

Hubbard, however dismissed that subject in no time and his hero, Jonnie Tyler, is soon sent off to do those more manly things that all super heroes' contracts of employment seem to specify – waging war, zooming about space and generally saving the galaxy.

But what does Battlefield Earth have, apart from 800 pages and 500,000 words? It has pace, adventure and fast unrelenting action. In short it is pure entertainment.

The publishers call it a block-buster – so if you have any blocks worth busting, beam up Battlefield Earth.
