BATTLEFIELD EARTH A HIT AT COMIC-CON

Among the nearly 40,000 attendees at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con International (July 20-23), one of the largest comic book and related multi-media conventions in the world, Battlefield Earth took a prominent position.

Putting in a surprise appearance outside the convention center to welcome the attendees and get things off to a good start, was the 30-foot inflatable version of Terl, the villainous Psychlo security chief of Earth in
L. Ron Hubbard’s compelling international bestseller,
Battlefield Earth. According to the Baltimore Evening Sun, the book has the same “exuberance, style and glory” as the Star Wars sagas, and in fact there were many Star Wars and Battlefield Earth fans on hand to meet one of the most popular guests at the convention - Battlefield Earth director Roger Christian.

Roger participated in all the weekend’s activities, including a Comic-Con panel on the Battlefield Earth movie, two packed signings of Battlefield Earth book and movie posters, which drew over 650 enthusiastic fans, and several interviews about the Battlefield Earth movie and book which took place during the convention (including radio, TV and live Internet interviews with TNCTV.com and Eonline.com). To view the TNVTV Internet interview go to www.tnctv.com and proceed to Comic-Con 2000 under the Channel selection menu.
