BATTLEFIELD EARTH MOVIE TIE-IN EDITION
UNVEILED BY STARS OF FILM IN NEW YORK

New York (Feb. 14) As anticipation mounts for the May 12th release of the Battlefield Earth movie by Warner Bros., it was announced today that L. Ron Hubbard's New York Times bestseller, which is the inspiration for the movie, will soon be available with an eye-catching, "alien-invasion," new cover.

Actors John Travolta and Barry Pepper launched the upcoming new look of the movie tie-in edition of Battlefield Earth to a gathering of media and executives of the publishing industry today at the Four Seasons Hotel in Manhattan

The new edition sports a cover image of Travolta as Terl—the 9-foot tall alien security chief of Earth—and includes additional photos of Travolta, Pepper, co-star Forest Whitaker, director Roger Christian and author Hubbard on the back cover.

On hand to witness the unveiling of the new image was the President of Barnes & Nobel Booksellers, Steve Riggio, executives and editors from Publishers Weekly and Starlog Magazine, as well as representatives from Bookazine, Sher Distributing, Golden Turtle Press, Smithmark Publishers, Hudson News, Bridge Publications, Franchise Pictures and Trendmasters.

Battlefield Earth
was recently selected as the best science fiction novel of the 20th century by the American Book Readers Association. The science fiction epic has been translated into 20 languages and is distributed in more than 100 countries.
